ABOUT DELTA HUMANE SOCIETY & SPCA of SJC
Established in 1966, Delta Humane Society & SPCA of SJC is a non-profit 501 © (3) and the only No-Kill shelter in San Joaquin County. With over 50 years of experience, we’ve rescued and cared for thousands of dogs and cats at our five-acre facility located at the same location since 1966. Our dedicated staff and volunteers treat our animals with love and compassion as if they were their own pets until they find forever homes. Caring for so many animals is a community effort and we are grateful to the many volunteers and sponsors that support us.
OUR MISSION
The mission of THE Delta Humane Society SPCA of SJC is to promote the humane treatment of animals and to promote the bond of caring between humans and animals. We do not destroy our animals. We accomplish our mission by providing shelter, care, adoption services for misplaced pets. We seek to educate and make the county’s citizens aware of their responsibilities in the crisis of pet overpopulation. We promote public awareness for the care of all animals in our world.

partner with
Home to Home!
What is Home to Home?
Home To Home is a nonprofit online platform that helps people find new permanent or temporary homes for their pets without involving animal shelters. Our goal is to make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible by connecting pet parents directly with potential adopters or fosters.
I found a stray or lost pet, can I use Home To Home?
Home To Home is designed for guardians and fosters of owned pets. If you’ve found a stray or lost pet, we recommend contacting your local animal shelter or animal control agency. They can help you file a found pet report, scan for a microchip, and follow proper procedures. In some cases, if you’ve taken temporary custody of the pet and exhausted other options, you may be able to post but always check with your local agencies to make sure you are following proper procedure.
What types of pets can be posted on Home To Home?
Any legal animal in your state can be posted on Home To Home. Fur, feathers, scales and all - they're ready to shine on our platform.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US
I adopted two kitties a couple weeks ago from DHS. They were very nice, informative, and helpful. They had some wonderful cats and I found two that I couldn't resist. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Clay and Buck are having a great time.

Delta Humane Society has gone through a new Leadership as of the beginning of October 2018. Mrs. Thompkins, founder an currently President of Delta Blue Star Moms has taken the reins now and has made considerable changes to the organization as a whole. I invite you all to come by and pay them a visit to see for yourselves. It’s the only “No Kill” facilities in San Joaquin County.

They really care about the homeless animals of San Joaquin County. The animals get great care and it is much nicer and cleaner than when it was under former management. Because of COVID, they are arranging 1:1 appts to play with adoptees and see if they are a good match for you and your family.

Wonderful! Found a kitten on the levees near Rio Vista. Called various rescue groups and humane societies. Did sixty mile round trip and were welcomed here. Sai they needed kittens. Told me he would get a home quickly and how to watch on Facebook. Very happy!
